Favourite Movies

Creating this list wasn't easy as you may already know I love watching movies. I love re-watching movies until I'm sick of watching that movie but these movies I never tire of watching. These are the movies that I will share and watch with my kids just like my mum does with her favourite movies (Meet Joe Black, Legends of the Fall anything Brad Pitt really)

My favourite thing to do at nights is sit down with a cup of tea and watch a film. I generally put on a film and then don't pay attention to it but I love hearing the background noise while I catch up on reading or wast time on social media, or on IMDB researching about the film I'm watching. I love finding out about the film or the actors and I love reading the goofs that are made in the films (but me and my dad are quite good at spotting them.

I love all types of films but not so much horror or scary films. I love comedies, romance, drama you name it, I also  love films that make you think, have you listening to every part of the story - tonight I'm going to attempt the Da Vinci code as part of another blog post I'm working on.- I always say I would love to see my favourite film for the first time again. (Same goes for a book or Tv Show) but I love the feeling you get when you watch a film for the first time, anticipating the ending, crying at the sad parts laughing until you cry at the funny parts because you will never laugh or cry at the movie the same way again.

1.Sleepless in Seattle
Sleepless in Seattle is my favourite movie of all time. When ever anyone asks what is your favourite movie this is my answer. I don't know if its the Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan pairing or how its based on  An Affair to Remember, or maybe it s the story and how when they met each other on top of the empire state building the just knew as if by "magic."

2. You've got Mail
Another one of my favourites and another Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan pairing. I love this film it the perfect film to cheer me up and I love how its based in New York. The chemistry they have together makes the film, I don't know what else's to say about it other than I'm obsessed with this film, with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan as co-stars.

3. Forrest Gump
Can you sense a theme here? I love a Tom Hanks movie, this is one of my favourites and Tom Hanks deserved every award he won for this film. When I was younger I used to go about talking like Forrest but the only thing I could say was "Mama said life's like a box of chocolates. You never know what you'r gonna get."

4. Mary Poppins
I loved this film as a kid and I still love it now, When I was little I used to stand at the window and sing expecting a little robin to land on my finger, I also wanted to float on top of a turtles back but I don't think they would like it very much. No shame but I still know nearly all the works to Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Lets go fly a Kite.

5. Pretty Woman

As well as loving a Tom Hanks films I also love a film with Julia Roberts and it helps that she is one of the nicest people (Proves I watch a bit to much E!) Which takes me to Pretty Woman one of my favourite Julia Roberts Films. The Scene where she goes shopping on Rodeo Drive and then when Richard Gere climbs up the fire escape to declare how much he loves her. Ah I love a good cheesy romantic film!

6. Wolf Of Wall Street

Ah Leonardo at his finest starring in the BioPic Wolf Of Wall Street. I was obsessed with this film after I seen it at the cinemas - with my mum I might add, not a wise choice- I couldn't stop talking about it, I thought it was amazing and Leo did a perfect job of portraying Jordan Belfort. I think as well as everyone else in the world I was obsessed with this film and it still amazes me to this day how they got away with all scenes in the film and how they didn't win any awards.

7. Crazy Stupid Love

Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Steve Carell, Comedy, Slaps, Dirty Dancing references and did I mention Ryan Gosling what more could you want from a film. Crazy Stupid love is a light hearted comedy and easy to watch - just like an easy drinking wine- thats why I love its cute , its romantic and its uplifting.

8.Dirty Dancing
I can't even remember the first time I seen this movie, I think I was really young and I was mesmerised by the songs and the dancing. It wasn't until I got older that I fully understood the love between Baby and Johnny and fell in love with it even more. I have always wanted a dress like Baby wears in the final scene and I'm still on the hunt for one.

9. When Harry Met Sally
Another Classic Meg Ryan film, It was only in the last two years that I first seen When Harry met Sally and just like any other late 80's early 90's film I love it. I've always like how they prove Harry's theory but in there own way, they stay friends for years before anything serious between them ever really happens.

10. Something Borrowed
With its all star cast and the fact that its based in my favourite city New York this film had to make the list. Being one of my favourite films combining New York, Weddings (well an almost wedding), the romance between Dex and Rachel, comedy  and a pretty hard Dance routine its certainly one of my go to movies. Rachel lives in a Brownstone apartment in New York and I'm obsessed with Brownstone houses this film makes me want to move to New York even more just so I can live in a Brownstone apartment!

11. The Wedding Date

If I could pay for a date with Dermot Mulroney I would Debra Messing is one lucky girl. As you can probably see by now all the films on my list are basically Romantic Comedies with  a few Musicals thrown in here and there. But this film has got to be one of my favourite wedding films of all time - with a little exception for Father of the Bride- If I had been dumped by the man I was engaged to then had to go to my younger sisters wedding alone I would too hire a male escort but knowing my luck he wouldn't look like Dermot Mulroney.

12. Pitch Perfect

My Sister and I are obsessed with this film, when it first came out I was that intrested in seeing it, but once I watched it I loved it. I love a good musical and this one has great uptodate songs with their own little twist. Fat Amy makes us laugh so much Rebel Wilson plays the part to perfection I can't wait to see the second one!

13. Grease 2
I love this film I actually prefer it to the first Grease ( maybe its just me though) I think the songs are better the although Grease does have some good songs. I just prefer the cheesiness of this film, from the song they sing at the bowling or to the luau at the end or the part where they are singing in a totally white room with a motor bike on a pile of rubble. There just that little part of me that i always wondered if in Biology class the teacher would start singing the Reproduction song... never did happen.

14. One Fine Day

Ah another one of my favourite New York films. this is just the perfect 90's film with the big phones and the long trench coats and George Clooney as a doting dad its all too cute. Its a film that can be re-watched over and over again and still be just as good and enjoy able as the first time.

15. The Prince and Me

When I was younger I always wanted to be just like two people one being Mia from the Princess Diaries and Two be Paige Morgan from The Prince and Me. Both ended up being princesses and one's engagement ring was presented to her by a butterfly. I was watching this film the other day and I still love it as much as I did when I first seen it.

16. Saving Mr Banks
Based on the making of one of my Favourite films, Saving Mr Banks is perfection. Starring one of my favourite actors Tom Hanks portraying Walt Disney which he played outstandingly well and Emma Thompson playing P.L Travers the two very different characters played off each other to create a brilliant movie. I'm obsessed with this movie and it makes me love Mary Poppins even more that and the fact that its roughly based on the true story of how they came about making Mary Poppins, I can't get enough of this movie.

What are some of your favourite movies?
